The Secret Life of a Book Blogger!

I was tagged by Kristy @ Confessions of a YA Reader for the Secret Life of a Book Blogger. Make sure you check out her blog!

1. How long have you been blogging?

I started my first blog in 2012 based on travel and trips I’d taken. Then discovered book blogging in 2016, which I love! Finally switched over to WordPress a few months ago and I’ve really gotten into it since then.

2. At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging?

Hopefully never, but if it ever becomes a hassle, I’d have to step back and reevaluate.

3. What is the best thing about blogging?

The community! I’ve made a lot of great (and supportive) friends through the bookish community. The amazing books are a definite plus, too.

4. What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?

Keeping a schedule!! I’m really bad at organising myself so I tend to need to sit down a few times a week and plan my posts, or life gets in the way and I don’t post what I meant to do.

5. How long does it take you to find make/find pictures to use?

Em, it depends on what I’m posting about. For reviews, I generally use my Insta pics if I took pictures of the book I was reading. For Goodreads Mondays or CFWW, it’s usually the cover photo so not long at all.

6. Who is your book crush?

Rowan from ToG series or Fiske from Sky in the Deep 😍😍

7. What author would you like to have on your blog?

Oh, this is easy! Adrienne Young, Shea Ernshaw, Sara Raasch, Linsey Miller, Sarah Henning, Jessica Brody, and a few others that I loved..

8. What do you wear when you write your blog posts?

Generally pyjamas as it’s night time when I usually write. Currently wearing shorts and spaghetti strap top because we’re heading to Tramore, Co. Waterford.

9. How long does it take you to prepare?

A post usually takes me about an hour with all the editing and finding quotes , etc.

10. How do you feel about the book blogging community?

I hate the competition and drama I see sometimes, but I mostly love it! Most of the community is super supportive and compassionate 💚💚

11. What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?

Find something you’re passionate about, write what you really think, and be willing to ask questions when you need to. There are loads of people willing to give you advice. Be willing to adjust when you need to and don’t push yourself too hard. People notice when you don’t really care.

Thank you for the tag Kristy! I tag anyone who wants to do this one. Please come back and share the link with me so I can check out your answers.

  1. I love your answers! Fiske. ♥ I actually started Heir of Fire last night, so I’ve just met Rowan, and I’m not gonna lie, even though the first impression of his personality leaves something to be desired, I keep picturing Merwild’s fanart of him and swooning lmao!
