Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This weeks prompt was Back to School/Learning Freebie (in honor of school starting back up soon, come up with your own topic that fits the theme of school or learning! Books that take place at school/boarding school/during study abroad, books you read in school, textbooks you liked/didn’t like, non-fiction books you loved or want to read, etc.). I decided I want to highlight books that take place during school! I was such a nerd and LOVED school, so it made the most sense to me. So, in no particular order:
- The Elementals series – Michelle Madow
- Vampire Academy – Richelle Mead
- Obsidian – Jennifer L. Armentrout
- Wicked – Jennifer L. Armentrout
- Palm South University – Kandi Steiner
- Off-Campus – Elle Kennedy
- Paper Princess – Erin Watt
- Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell
- I Do Not Trust You – Laura J. Burns & Melinda Metz (releasing next month!)
- Fallen – Lauren Kate
What do you think? Have any really good suggestions for books set during school? Any other fantasies you’d recommend?
The Vampire Academy series and the Lauren Kate series are excellent! I still need to read Fangirl though.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

VA made my list this week as well. I think the fact that it was happening at school really brought something to the story.

I really should read Fangirl one of these days. I write fanfiction, so it sounds right up my alley.
