Hi there, Wayfarers!
I’ve been contemplating doing this type of post for awhile, and it just keeps sticking in my mind. I’m gonna just go for it! Might not be every week, but I’ll do them when I have time and good samples to talk about. So here’s this weeks:
The Priory of the Orange Tree – Samantha Shannon: EVERYONE is talking about this! The sample looks pretty good, but, I must say, I’m not as excited about this as I am for TBS4!! Priory has dragons, which I love, and a secret protector. There’s also religion, which could go either way, and a few pretty interesting personalities. I’m probably gonna pre order from the Illumicrate virtual signing, but it’s not one of my most highly anticipated releases, if I’m honest. Maybe that will change when I read the full novel? Five Feet Apart – Rachael Lippincott et al.: Holy damn. If you’ve ever read John Green, you need this book. Reminiscent of The Fault in our Stars, but with kids that have cystic fibrosis instead. It’s sure to be entirely heartbreaking, but worth the read, I think, as it’s a diverse read. It’ll be helpful to learn more about how CF works and how it affects people in their daily lives. From what I’ve read so far, it’s a pretty intense affliction, but it’s not often you hear much about it. I cannot wait to get my hands on this book. Sample from Riveted Lit. Released 20 Nov 2018.
