Can't Wait Wednesday

Can’t Wait Wednesday is hosted by Tressa over at Wishful Endings and was based on Waiting on Wednesday’s, which is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. She created it to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released, but that’s not always the case. I happen to have pile upon piles of books I am excited to read, so thought this would be a fun meme in which to partake!

So, a twisted, futuristic AI Disneyland? Where do I sign up!? I am so excited to read this upcoming release from Jess Rothenberg. It really sounds unique and interesting. I also find it thought-provoking when I read a story about created beings that feel things that way humans do – like in LIFEL1K3 by Jay Kristoff (spoiler: I LOVED IT!) And the way this story is going to be told through various platforms – interviews, testimony, and memories – sounds amazing! I really want this now. It’s too bad I was declined on Netgalley.

Have you read this yet or is it on your TBR? What do you think of the description? And which cover do you like better? UK (left) or US (right)?

Welcome to the Kingdom… where ‘Happily Ever After’ isn’t just a promise, but a rule.

Glimmering like a jewel behind its gateway, The Kingdom(TM) is an immersive fantasy theme park where guests soar on virtual dragons, castles loom like giants, and bioengineered species–formerly extinct–roam free.

Ana is one of seven Fantasists, beautiful “princesses” engineered to make dreams come true. When she meets park employee Owen, Ana begins to experience emotions beyond her programming including, for the first time… love.

But the fairytale becomes a nightmare when Ana is accused of murdering Owen, igniting the trial of the century. Through courtroom testimony, interviews, and Ana’s memories of Owen, emerges a tale of love, lies, and cruelty–and what it truly means to be human.

  1. I came across this book earlier this week and I cannot wait for it either! Like you, I love the idea of a futuristic Disneyland and AI princesses. Also love both covers! I hadn’t seen the one on the left before. It’s gorgeous!!! Hope you enjoy it!
