OF COURSE I’M PARTICIPATING IN #READIRISHWOMENCHALLENGE!! Obviously, I’m pretty late starting, but better late than not going to the party – unless you don’t want to go, in which case more power to you! Anyway, not the point hahahah

I have so many Irish women authors to read, so I’m just going to show you my insane TBR for this and try to fit them in the categories!

  1. Other Words For Smoke, which I’ve started and love (Sarah Maria Griffin)
  2. Perfectly Preventable Deaths because of course! (Deirdre Sullivan)
  3. Spellbook of the Lost and Found (Moira Fowley-Doyle)
  4. Last Ones Left Alive (Sarah Davis-Goff)
  5. The Break (Marian Keyes)
  6. The Importance of Being Aisling (Emer McLysaght&Sarah Breen)
  7. The Girl in Between (Sarah Carroll)
  8. Girls will be Girls (Emer O’Toole)
  9. All the Bad Apples (Moira Fowley-Doyle)
  10. Spare and Found Parts (Sarah Maria Griffin)
  11. Not Lost (SMG)

That’s enough, right? I’d actually love to read Country Girls by Edna O’Brien and Constellations by Sinead Gleeson, if I can get them.

What’s on your TBR this month? Are you participating in a challenge?Β Let me know in the comments!Β I’m actually also participating in the TBR & Beyond Book Club April Dark Fantasy challenge, which can be found here.

xxx See you soon!

Happy St. Paddy’s to me, I guess??

haha oh well! There’s still loads of month left, so I’ll absolutely be focusing on some upcoming and recent Irish releases. I just got Last Ones Left Alive (Sarah Davis-Goff), so will get to start that very soon! Heard loads of great things about it. And I was lucky enough to get an advance proof of Perfectly Preventable Deaths, an upcoming release from Deirdre Sullivan!

Also, I have Tangleweed & Brine (Sullivan), which I’ve started and loved. Hopefully, I’ll get to read a few more of those stories.

May have to move up Spare & Found Parts (Sarah Maria Griffin) on my TBR. Been looking for a good challenge for that one! Fingers crossed I get approved for her newest, Other Words for Smoke before month’s end. Read the sampler and oh.my.DAMN! #dead

Oh, The Surface Breaks (Louise O’Neill) and Dark Wood Dark Water (Tina Callaghan)! Also, just picked up Oh My God, What a Complete Aisling (Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen)… Then, there’s The Break (Marian Keyes), which has been sitting on my shelf for ages..

Right, so gonna have to narrow this down a bit! We shall see what I can fit in through the next 14 days!

What recs do ye have for reading Irish authors?

March TBR and Reading Challenge

This is going to be a big month for reading, I can just feel it! It’s taken me a few days to figure out what I’m reading this month. I have a reading challenge I’m participating in alongside getting my April ARCs read and reviewed! I have 8 physical and 2 Netgalley books to read this month, as well as 2 already published and a whole queue of audio and ebook loans on my Libby app!

I’ve already finished The Heart Forger, Wink Poppy Midnight, and started Little Monsters for audiobooks. Currently reading Sherwood by Meagan Spooner and I LOVE IT! It’s such a great Robin Hood retelling! Can’t wait to tell you all about it!

I definitely have my reading cut out for me this month. Aside from the above, I have The Invited by Jennifer McMahon, the mermaid’s voice returns in this one by Amanda Lovelace, 2 books on the way that I’ll shout about once they arrive, and I’d like to read more of King of Scars and The Priory of the Orange Tree at some stage this month. Also, dying to read Five Feet Apart when my library hold comes in, which could be next month 😱 Maybe I’ll do a *Library Loans* post sometime soon… what do you think?

And the amount of preorders I have coming up…. it’s no wonder i never have money πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Did I tell you I won a copy of Bloodleaf in a giveaway?! Hopefully that arrives soon and can be added to this month’s TBR… PREORDER it and enter the preorder campaign!

The reading challenge I’m doing is in honour of International Women’s Month and can be found at Women’s Hall of Fame TBR and Beyond Book Club event. I hope some of you join us! Here’s the board for the challenge:

Well, that’s all for now! See you later, Wayfarers! xx

February Reading Challenge Wrap Up – When Royalty Comes to Play

Right, so I didnt get through all the books I planned to this month. Here’s my planned TBR for the challenge:

And I read none of them! I started King of Scars, Sherwood, and had already begun part of Price Guide to the Occult. But my final card looks quite different. I read 10 books this month, but 1 didn’t fit in the challenge anywhere.

And, as you can see, I only completed one rope. I’m still pretty happy with my progress, though! That’s 23 books read this year so far. Nearly a quarter of my planned number to read this year. 😲 much better than last year πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

My top 5 favourites this month were In Another Life, Asking for it, Ruin and Rising, When Summer Ends, and The Husband’s Secret. Didn’t enjoy The Dysasters much. I also started Sherwood last night, so that will be my first completed book for March!

Did you love any of my Feb reads? Let me know!

The Princess Saves The Day – November Event

Hi friends! I’ve never told you, but I’m in a fb group called TBR and Beyond. Now, they are highly responsible for my excessive book buying because they always have too damn many wonderful recommendations – please don’t ever stop TBRers! πŸ–€πŸ–€

This month, they’re hosting a reading event called The Princess Saves The Day! I’m so excited. You can choose Merida, Belle, Cinderella, or Pocahontas…or do more than one path, if that suits your fancy! Here’s the board…

I’m starting with Merida. She’s one of my all-time favourite Disney princesses! So, here’s my TBR so far..

I’ve finished Kingdom of Ash, and I think I’ll be reading The Hate U Give for Strong Family to finish Merida’s path. Then, move on to Pocahontas, so feel free to recommend some books for that path. And if you’re participating, let me know! I’d love to know what YOU’RE reading this month!
